Brass
Brass is an alloy of copper and zinc. Here at Metal Harvest, we take standard brass and chrome or nickel-plated brass such as taps, lamp fittings, valves, ornaments, and much more.
We also accept brass swarf. Swarf refers to the excess from machine cut metal, and we take it as long as it is free of oil or steel.
Bronze
We accept standard and aluminium bronze – a type of bronze in which aluminium is the primary alloying metal added to copper.
Aluminium bronze is most commonly used in applications where its resistance to corrosion makes it preferable to alternative engineering materials.
Gunmetal
Also known as red brass, gunmetal is frequently used to make steam and hydraulic castings, valves, gears, statues and small objects such as buttons.
Lead
We accept clean lead, such as flashings, sinkers, pipes and more. We also take lead ingots and lead-acid batteries with no holes in them.
Stainless Steel
Our team can take solid stainless steel and stainless steel swarf that is free of oil or steel. Your solid stainless steel must not have steel, magnets or other items attached.
Aluminium
We accept a diverse range of both household and industrial scrap aluminium materials. These include the following:
- Domestic aluminium such as ladders, pots and pans and more
- Joinery
- Corrugated roofing
- Number plates
- Outdoor furniture
- Panelling
- Painted Sheets
- Cast Aluminium (<1% steel contamination)
- Aluminium rods or bars
- Aluminium mag wheels (must be free of tyres, bolts and rivets)
- Aluminium swarf
- Aluminium wire and cables
- Aluminium
- And much more
Miscellaneous Metals
We accept a range of miscellaneous metal components, including:
- Catalytic converters with both exhaust ends cut off
- Fridge compressors from fridges and AC units (drained of oil and fluid)
- Old circuit boards
Other Steel
We accept a range of other steel products, which fall into three primary categories:
- Insize heavy steel (Greater than 4mm thick and less than 1m x 1m in size)
- Oversize steel (Over 4mm thick and more than 1m x 1m in size)
- Light gauge steel (Steel less than 4mm thick)
Car Bodies
We can take unflattened car bodies with tyres, radiator and battery removed. Gas tanks are acceptable but must be removed and punctured.
Whiteware
We accept steel whiteware items with non-metallic components such as plastic, wood, rubber, glass and more. These can include fridges, stoves, washing machines and other appliances.
